More Instruments
Since our new songs are all Lullabies we can’t just play a normal drum set, Dann had to come up with some new softer ways to play percussion for the album. And our friend Aaron Strumpel did an amazing job adding trumpet to our songs. The man has super human lungs! And he’s just fun to watch. It’s hard to hear exactly what the songs will be like only hearing one instrument, but that will just build the anticipation for you.

We have fixed the issue with our song downloads of The Autumn Film. We were by no way Explicit in content, again it was just a glitch in a new system of ours. If you have a download that does have this issue send us an email at band@pagecxvi.com and we’ll get you a new download code as soon as possible. We’re sorry for any confusion.

The Autumn Film not Explicit!

Hey Friends,
For some reason our downloads for our other project, The Autumn Film, of 8 Track Tape and our other records are listed as “Explicit” on iTunes. Please know this is a mistake! Our content is by no means explicit and we are doing our best to fix the problem as quickly as we can!

Another day in the studio
Well we only have one piano, but we have the two great parts to play, what should we do?
I think the best option is for both of us to play at the same time. We don’t even look that excited about it, maybe we should just get another piano, and that way we don’t have to look at each other while we play.
Aside from that, we’re still tracking away here in the studio, hopefully we’ll have some sort of sample for you to listen to.
We got back our new masters of a new project that is coming out this summer, before Hymns lullabies is. We just can’t wait to get all of this to you.

Day 3 in the studio
Not even a giant (multiple feet of snow) storm can keep us out of the studio. It made for a very cold studio experience, but it made us glad to be inside with warm cups of coffee doing what we love to do. We tried some bow work on the guitar, and percussion work on the bass as you can see in the video. Who knows what sorts of things we’ll come up with next? We’re taking a weekend break, to go play in the snow, and then we’re back to the studio bright and early on Monday. See you then!

Day 2 in The Studio
We’ve got a great song selection. We’ve got things mapped out, and now we just get to play with all sorts of sounds and midi instruments. We spent the better half of the morning just playing around with noises and tweaking sounds. There’s just too many choices! This video is just a glimpse into our creative minds and our thought process. Hope you Enjoy!

Day 1 in the studio
We think we have arranged most of the songs that will be on Hymns Lullaby. We’re so excited! There’s a lot of experimentation going on. Dann our drummer is behind a keyboard, and headphones sound better when they’re half on. How do you finish a song when lullabies make you sleepy? More things we’ll have to figure out on day 2.

The Roots Of PageCXVI

For those of you who don’t already know, We have another music project called, “The Autumn Film.” It’s the same 3 people behind PageCXVI. We’d love to take some time and explain a bit about this other band. Hop aboard, grab a coffee, and settle in. We hope you enjoy the backstory.

The Backstory

The Autumn Film (seen above) started a bit before PageCXVI, with the intent of creating beautiful music that wasn’t necessarily intended for corporate worship. We were drawn to the idea of creating original music that reflects one of our favorite characteristics of God—beauty. We spent time touring the US, playing in bars, clubs and anywhere else that would have us.

While on tour as The Autumn Film, we played in Churches on the weekends, starting out with covers of popular worship songs, and then eventually leading worship with Hymns. As we spent more time playing on the road, we stumbled on the fact that we were effectively operating as two separate bands. In order to clarify who we were in each space, we decided to officially name our worship project, “PageCXVI.”

Our devotion to making hymns accessible and known again came from our hearts yearning to have these particular songs be heard again, and our deep respect and admiration of the story, intent and theologically rich content that seemed to be missing in a lot of modern songs. At the same time, we continue to be drawn to create beautiful, meaningful and moving original music that isn’t necessarily used for corporate worship. Ultimately The Autumn Film and PageCXVI serve two different purposes, and we thought it best to give them two different names.

Phew! That was a lot. Thanks for sticking with us. Here’s some exciting news that’s happening with The Autumn Film.

If you’re completely new to The Autumn Film, you should go here and get a feel for the music. We also have 2 full length albums out, and 12 songs that you can download for free here.

If you’re totally up to date with TAF, and you’re like, “Duh, I knew this stuff way before you officially announced it, get on with it already,” our next piece of exciting news for The Autumn Film is that we’re putting out another full length album (hopefully) really soon.

We actually need your help on this one to release it as soon as possible. Here’s some info about the new album.

“8-Track Tape” is the name of our next record. The track titles are: (in no particular order)
• Leave The Light On
• Save Me
• Row
• I’m Going In
• Love Is An Avalanche
• Looking For A Sign
• Slow Down
• The Giving Tree

Even though this release is under a different name, it’s similar to the style of PageCXVI that you know and love. The difference is that these are all original songs that we’ve written for a diverse audience. We are really excited about the possibility of having a potentially bigger reach than PageCXVI can have simply because of the nature of this project.
